Zrzeszają się by promować swoje produkty i ubiegać o środki unijne – 50 pomorskich przedsiębiorców utworzyło Pomorską Izbę Gospodarczą Żywności Naturalnej i Tradycyjnej. Organizacja zrzesza producentów, przetwórców i sprzedawców, członkowie Izby prowadzą m.in. piekarnie, przetwórnie mięsa i runa leśnego, fermę gęsi, gospodarstwa agroturystyczne, pensjonaty, restauracje i bary. Liczą że razem będzie m.in. łatwiej znaleźć rynki zbytu oraz pozbyć się pośredników – wyjaśnia Edyta Klasa z departamentu środowiska i rolnictwa urzędu marszałkowskiego w Gdańsku Na skróceniu łańcucha sprzedaży skorzystają klienci, bo dzięki pominięciu pośredników produkty będą tańsze. Pierwszy sklep z ekologiczną żywnością założony przez Izbę mógłby powstać w Gdańsku – ocenia jej nowo wybrany prezes Robert Skórczewski. Przynależność do Izby daje możliwość pozyskania wsparcia finansowego na realizowanie wspólnych projektów np. na prowadzenie punktu sprzedaży produktów lokalnych, regionalnych ekologicznych. Przystąpiło do niej na razie 50 przedsiębiorców, a szacuje się że w pomorskiem jest około 800 producentów żywności lokalnej i tradycyjnej, działa też około sześciuset gospodarstw ekologicznych.
