Uwaga na oszustów – ostrzega Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych przed osobami podszywającymi się pod pracowników ZUS.
Najczęściej oszuści pukają do drzwi oferując podwyższenie świadczenia lub wypłatę jednorazowego dodatku, czasem zaś obniżenie opłacanych składek. Wyłudzają w ten sposób nienależne opłaty czy dane osobowe, na przykład przy pomocy fikcyjnych formularzy. Niektórzy oszuści proszą o przygotowanie dokumentów, a tymczasem okradają ofiarę. Na szczególne ryzyko narażone są osoby starsze i samotne – uczula ZUS. I wyjaśnia, że wizyty pracowników poza jednostką ZUS odbywają się jedynie w dwóch przypadkach. Pierwszy to kontrola prawidłowości wykorzystania zwolnień lekarskich, gdy sprawdzają w domu lub innym miejscu wskazanym w zwolnieniu czy wykonujemy lekarskie zalecenia. Inspektorzy przeprowadzają też kontrole u osób prowadzących pozarolniczą działalność gospodarczą, które są zawsze zapowiadane wcześniej.
Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych przypomina również, iż wiadomości pocztą elektroniczną wysyła wyłącznie do klientów, którzy zdecydowali się na taką formę kontaktu i zawsze są one wysyłane od indywidualnego opiekuna. Wszystkie inne informacje wysyłane mailem rzekomo w imieniu ZUS mogą zawierać wirusy i nie należy ich otwierać.
