Rozpoczynają się 31. Światowe Dni Młodzieży – weźmie w nich udział przynajmniej 2,5 tysiąca wiernych z Archidiecezji Gdańskiej.
Tyle osób zarejestrowało się i ma swój pakiet pielgrzyma. W Krakowie na miejscu można jeszcze dopełnić formalności w Centrach Informacyjno-Rejestracyjnych, więc liczba ta może nie być ostateczna. Światowe Dni Młodzieży adresowane są do osób w wieku 15-35 lat, ale na spotkanie z papieżem Franciszkiem wybierają się też i starsi. – Wiekiem, ale nie duchem – mówi ksiądz Artur Miroński z parafii w Redzie, jeden z koordynatorów obchodów w diecezji. Centralne obchody Światowych Dni Młodzieży rozpoczynają się dziś w Krakowie i potrwają do 31 lipca. Odbędą się pod hasłem „Błogosławieni miłosierni, albowiem oni miłosierdzia dostąpią.”
Do Krakowa zmierzają pielgrzymi z całego świata – zarejestrowanych jest ponad 350 tysięcy osób. Papież Franciszek dołączy do nich w środę.
