Co roku na kolonie wyjeżdża ponad 100 tysięcy dzieci. W województwie pomorskim do bazy MEN zgłoszono 907 turnusów wypoczynku dzieci i młodzieży. Najwięcej kontroli jest zawsze w miejscach najchętniej odwiedzanych przez turystów. W razie stwierdzenia nieprawidłowości organizatorom letniego wypoczynku inspektorzy mogą wystawić mandat i wszcząć postępowanie administracyjne.
