Gmina Brusy wyróżniona tytułem „Samorząd równych szans”
Brusy jako jedyna gmina z Pomorza została w tym roku wyróżniona ogólnopolskim tytułem „Samorząd równych szans”. Nagrodę przyznano za wszechstronne działania na rzecz wspierania osób niepełnosprawnych.
– To nagroda, która motywuje do dalszych działań – mówi burmistrz Witold Ossowski.
Konkurs został już po raz ósmy przeprowadzony przez Fundację Instytutu Rozwoju Regionalnego z Krakowa. Jury doceniło m.in. działania bruskiego samorządu w pobudzaniu aktywności osób niepełnosprawnych, w tym prowadzenie Warsztatów Terapii Zajęciowej i dostosowywanie infrastruktury do ich potrzeb. W Brusach aktywnie działa też stowarzyszenie Na Rzecz Osób Niepełnosprawnych „Ty i Ja”, które co roku organizuje wojewódzką olimpiadę dla uczestników Warsztatów Terapii Zajęciowej i Środowiskowych Domów Pomocy Społecznej. Działalność stowarzyszenia wspierana jest przez bruski samorząd.
