Brusy już od 30 lat są miastem
30-lecie nadania praw miejskich świętują Brusy. Rocznicę chcą uczcić wystawą, w której będą edukować młodych mieszkańców o historii swojej miejscowości.
Brusy obecnie liczą nieco ponad 5 tysięcy mieszkańców, a razem z całą gminą 15 tysięcy. Powstały jako 28 miasto województwa bydgoskiego, od prawie dwudziestu lat są w granicach województwa pomorskiego. O nadanie praw miejskich Brusy ubiegały się czterokrotnie od lat pięćdziesiątych ubiegłego wieku. Starania zakończyły się sukcesem w 1988 roku nadaniem praw miejskich i herbu z czerwonym półgryfem trzymającym w szponach błękitną literę B. – Chcemy przypomnieć tamte wydarzenia i pokazać jak nasze miasto się zmieniło – mówi sekretarz gminy Mariola Rodzeń. Wystawę o 30-leciu nadania praw miejskich Brusom można do końca lutego oglądać w Urzędzie Miejskim. Potem odwiedzi ona wszystkie szkoły w gminie.
