Dzisiaj mija 130. rocznica urodzin Jana Karnowskiego
Dokładnie 130. lat temu w Czarnowie koło Brus urodził się jeden z najwybitniejszych działaczy kaszubskich Jan Karnowski. Był sędzią, poetą i publicystą. Do dzisiaj nazywany jest ideologiem ruchu kaszubskiego.
– O jego spuściźnie najbardziej pamięta się w gminie Brusy, gdzie organizowane są poświęcone mu konkursy, a miejscowy Dom Kultury nosi imię Jana Karnowskiego. Jego dzieła powinny być znane wszystkim Kaszubów – przekonuje nauczycielka języka kaszubskiego Felicja Baska-Borzyszkowska.
Karnowski obok Aleksandra Majkowskiego i Leona Heyke tworzył ruch młodokaszubski, w którym wspólnie w początkach 20 wieku pracowali nad „podniesieniem Kaszubów – Pomorzan pod względem kulturalnym, politycznym i ekonomicznym”. Karnowski jest autorem kilku tomików wierszy, a także prac historycznych, etnograficznych i satyrycznych – mówił prezes bruskiego oddziału ZKP, Stanisław Kobus. Obchody 130. rocznicy urodzin Jana Karnowskiego odbędą się dzisiaj w Centrum Kultury w Brusach. Początek o godzinie 10.
