„Bogu na chwałę – ludziom na ratunek” – dziś świętują strażacy
„Bogu na chwałę – ludziom na ratunek” – dziś świętują strażacy. Kościół katolicki wspomina ich patrona Świętego Floriana, obchodzimy też Międzynarodowy Dzień Strażaka zainicjowany blisko 30 lat temu w Australii, ku czci pięciu strażaków tragicznie zmarłych podczas pełnienia służby.
Za poświęcenie w walce z żywiołami i skutkami wypadków strażaków obdarzamy największym zaufaniem wśród grup zawodowych – bo aż 94. procentowym. – To służba i pasja – mówi szef komendy powiatowej PSP w Kartuzach Edmund Kwidziński, jeden z najstarszych stażem zawodowym strażak na Kaszubach. Służy już 44 lata, z czego 24 na czele kartuskiej komendy. Wyjątkowo hucznie święto obchodzono już wczoraj w Stężycy – gdzie strażacy ochotnicy otrzymali 5 nowych wozów bojowych.
