Wejherowo łączy swój Budżet Obywatelski z Rumią, Redą, Gdynią, Sopotem i Gdańskiem.
Nauczone doświadczeniem dwóch edycji władze miasta chcą skorzystać ze wspólnego dla metropolii terminu głosowań nad pomysłami mieszkańców – podkreślał prezydent Wejherowa Krzysztof Hildebrandt. Poprzednie edycje budżetu w Wejherowie nie by wolne od błędów związanych z procedowaniem inwestycji. Nowy, metropolitalny kalendarz ma poprawić organizację pracy nad nim oraz dać lepsze możliwości promocji. – Nie oznacza jednak wspólnego głosowania – zaznacza Beata Rutkiewicz, Zastępca Prezydenta do spraw rozwoju miasta. Na projekty obywatelskie w Wejherowie zostanie przeznaczony milion złotych, w tym 50 tysięcy na tak zwane projekty miękkie – czyli nieinwestycyjne. Pierwszy etap – składanie wniosków – potrwa od 1 do 30 kwietnia. Głosowanie odbędzie się we wrześniu.
