W Żukowie oficjalnie oddano do użytku piętro rozbudowanego Zespołu Szkół Zawodowych i Ogólnokształcących.
– Jest też miejsce na pracownię dla zawodu kierowca/mechanik oraz technik transportu kolejowego – mówi dyrektor placówki, Gabriela Kowalska.
Dzięki temu problem ciasnoty został rozwiązany. Dobudowano całkowicie nową kondygnację w której znajdują się sale dydaktyczne, aula i biblioteka – łącznie 1500 m kw. Nowością jest też winda. Nadbudowa stworzyła bazę lokalową do nauczania zawodów z przyszłością – techników logistyków i techników eksploatacji portów i terminali. Nadbudowa szkoły kosztowała ponad 5 mln zł. Inwestorem było Starostwo Powiatowe w Kartuzach
