Pomorski marszałek i prezydent Gdańska razem sprzeciwiają się decyzji połączenia Lotosu z Orlenem. Mieczysław Struk i Paweł Adamowicz podkreślają, że wpłynie ona negatywnie na gospodarkę regionu.
– Nie mamy żadnych przesłanek by wierzyć, że decyzja o połączeniu koncernów ma głębszą myśl gospodarczą – mówi prezydent Gdańska Paweł Adamowicz.
W zeszłym roku firma zapłaciła 22 mln zł podatku CIT do budżetu Gdańska i prawie 50 mln zł do budżet województwa pomorskiego. Lotos jest też zaangażowany w życie kulturalne, społeczne i sportowe regionu pomorskiego. Pomorscy samorządowcy napisali list do premiera, przedstawili też swoje stanowisko na konferencji przed siedzibą Lotosu. Nasz apel nie jest grą polityczną – podkreślał z kolei Mieczysław Struk. Przypomniał, że samorząd województwa pomorskiego sprzeciwiał się już pomysłom poprzednich rządów o połączeniu Lotosu z Orlenem. Zdaniem marszałka decyzje o rozwoju firmy powinny zapadać na Pomorzu, tak, jak przez ostatnie 40 lat. W październiku ubiegłego roku sejmik jednogłośnie przyjął uchwałę, w której apelował o pozostawienie zarządu i centrali Lotosu w Gdańsku. Otrzymał wtedy odpowiedź z ministerstwa energii, że nie planuje się prac związanych z połączeniem koncernów. Tymczasem we wtorek PKN Orlen podpisał z Ministrem Energii list intencyjny w sprawie rozpoczęcia przejmowania minimum 53 procent akcji Grupy Lotos.
