Ślązacy chcą doprowadzić do zmiany ustawy o mniejszościach
Na następnym posiedzeniu Sejmu RP, które zaplanowano w dniach 27-29 stycznia, podjęta zostanie decyzja o odrzuceniu w całości, bądź też dalszym procedowaniu zmiany ustawy o mniejszościach narodowych i etnicznych, polegającej na dopisaniu do ustawy śląskiej mniejszości etnicznej.
Wspierany przez liczne śląskie organizacje obywatelski projekt zmiany ustawy trafił do Sejmu w lipcu 2014 r. Podpisało go ponad 140 tysięcy Ślązaków. Ponieważ w poprzedniej kadencji Sejmu nie wyczerpano związanej z nim procedury, w obecnej jako projekt obywatelski rozpatrywany jest od nowa. O korzyściach wynikających z przyznania Ślązakom statusu mniejszości etnicznej w Polsce, mówił w piątek w Sejmie przedstawiciel inicjatywy obywatelskiej, lider Ruchu Autonomii Śląska Jerzy Gorzelik, które swoje wystąpienie zakończył cytując słowa biskupa Andrzeja Czaji.
Posłowie PSL i Ruchu Kukiz’15 chcą odrzucenia śląskiego projektu w pierwszym czytaniu. Zamiar głosowania za skierowaniem projektu do dalszych prac w komisjach zapowiedzieli przedstawiciele PiS, PO oraz Nowoczesnej. Przypomnijmy, że podobny postulat, o uznanie Kaszubów za mniejszość etniczną w Polsce, ma stowarzyszenie Osób Narodowości Kaszubskiej Kaszëbskô Jednota. Działacze tego stowarzyszneia uważają, że obecne prawo, chroniące język kaszubski, uznany za język regionalny, nie daje pełnych możliwości chronienia i rozwijania tożsamości kaszubskiej.
