Rodzina i przyjaciele pożegnali prof. Jerzego Tredera
Rodzina, przyjaciele, działacze kaszubsko – pomorscy i pracownicy Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego żegnali dzisiaj na cmentarzu w Redzie profesora Jerzego Tredera. Jego śmierć to wielka strata dla ruchu kaszubsko – pomorskiego, świata nauki i całej ludzkości – mówili wzruszeni uczestnicy nabożeństwa.
Msza święta odbyła się w rodzinnej parafii naukowca, w kościele św. Leona w Wejherowie, celebrowało ją sześciu kapłanów, w tym ojciec Adam Ryszard Sikora, który od dwunastu lat współpracował z profesorem Trederem przy tłumaczeniu Pisma Świętego na język kaszubski. Profesora żegnali tłumnie zebrani Kaszubi z pocztami sztandarowymi i żółto-czarnymi flagami.
Profesor Jerzy Treder był najwybitniejszym językoznawcą kaszubskim, przez całe życie oddanym kaszubszczyźnie. Po długiej walce z chorobą nowotworową zmarł 2 kwietnia w wieku 73 lat. Za swoje dokonania został w marcu odznaczony Honorowym Wyróżnieniem za Zasługi dla Województwa Pomorskiego. (Fot. Dariusz Majkowski)
