Poprawiła się jakość powietrza w Kościerzynie, Wejherowie i Gdańsku
W Kościerzynie, Wejherowie, Rumi i Gdańsku dobiega końca realizacja projektu „KAWKA” poprawiającego jakość powietrza w miastach. Na ten cel Wojewódzki Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska w Gdańsku wydał ponad 70 mln złotych.
– Jesteśmy zadowoleni z efektu ekologicznego, który dzięki temu osiągnęliśmy – mówi Maciej Kazienko, zastępca prezesa Wojewódzkiego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska w Gdańsku.
Celem trzyletniego programu była przede wszystkim likwidacja tzw. niskiej emisji, czyli szkodliwych dymów, które wydobywają się z przydomowych kotłowni. Dzięki dotacjom zlikwidowano ponad 200 pieców opalanych węglem w Wejherowie i Rumi, a także blisko 50 kotłów węglowych w Kościerzynie. Mimo zakończenia programu KAWKA, samorządy wciąż mogą korzystać z dotacji na wymianę pieców węglowych m.in. z programu „Czyste powietrze” a także z projektów Regionalnego Programu Operacyjnego.
