Ponad 200 tysięcy osób obchodziło Rok Matematyki
Ponad 200 tysięcy osób wzięło udział w obchodach Roku Matematyki na Pomorzu – szacują organizatorzy.
Sejmik województwa pomorskiego poświęcił rok 2015 królowej nauk by zwalczać stereotypy narosłe wokół matematyki – za pomocą konkursów, festynów, wystaw, projekcji filmów czy happeningów. Zainteresowanie przerosło oczekiwania – odbyło się łącznie 7 konferencji, były 4 seminaria i 32 wykłady, ponad 21 tysięcy uczniów i dorosłych wzięło udział w przeszło 300-u konkursach, odbyło się też wiele imprez szkolnych i ogólnodostępnych, w których uczestniczyło 115 tysięcy osób. Zorganizowano 16 imprez festiwalowych, 130 dni matematyki i happeningów, 12 festynów i 14 pikników. Dzisiaj obchody zakończył happening na Politechnice Gdańskiej i konferencja podsumowująca. Takiego rozliczenia dokonano już w grudniu w Wejherowie – gdzie jak mówił Wojciech Rybakowski z zarządu powiatu – akcja spotkała się z dużym odzewem.
Rok Matematyki był w województwie pomorskim obchodzony z inicjatywy trzech uczelni: Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego, Politechniki Gdańskiej i Akademii Pomorskiej w Słupsku.
