8 miliardów zł dla Pomorza z Unii Europejskiej. Komisja Europejska zaakceptowała Regionalny Program Operacyjny Województwa Pomorskiego na lata 2014-20.
Pieniądze mają być wydane m. in. na wspieranie inwestycji przedsiębiorstw w innowacyjne rozwiązania, na ochronę środowiska i wykorzystanie odnawialnych źródeł energii, na wsparcie edukacji – w tym przedszkolnej oraz pomoc osobom bezrobotnym i zagrożonym wykluczeniem społecznym. To największy program finansowy w historii regionu, Pomorze będzie miało do dyspozycji dwa razy więcej pieniędzy niż w poprzednim okresie. W odróżnieniu od poprzedniej perspektywy, wsparcie w ramach nowego Programu będzie udzielane z dwóch funduszy strukturalnych: Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego oraz Europejskiego Funduszu Społecznego. W nowym okresie programowania wprowadzono też tzw. ramy wykonania. Oznacza to, że pomorski Urząd Marszałkowski będzie musiał zrealizować konkretne cele – takie jak np. liczba miejsc opieki dla dzieci w wieku do 3 lat. Jeżeli zostaną osiągnięte, otrzymamy dodatkowe środki w ramach tzw. rezerwy wykonania.
