Miejsce dla roweru w PKM-ce można już rezerwować przez internet – za pośrednictwem strony bądź przez aplikację na smartfony. Obowiązek rezerwacji na przewóz rowerów Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna wprowadziła pod koniec maja tego roku.
Ma zapobiec sytuacjom gdy pasażer z ważnym biletem nie mógł wsiąść do pociągu bo wszystkie miejsca rowerowe były już zajęte. Rezerwacja jest odpłatna – 3 zł przy przejeździe jednorazowym oraz 30,00 zł miesięcznie. Do tej pory procedury można było dopełnić w kasie biletowej i u kierownika pociągu. Teraz można skorzystać z internetowego systemu sprzedaży rezerwacji. Wystarczy pod adresem bilety.skm.pkp.pl, gdzie sprzedawane są bilety, zaznaczyć odpowiednie połączenie i pamiętać o wybraniu odpowiedniej opcji w menu „liczba rowerów”. Można też skorzystać z aplikacji na smartfony. Brak dostępnej opcji rezerwacji oznacza, że wszystkie miejsca w danym składzie PKM są już zajęte. Wtedy pasażerowie mogą liczyć jedynie na zgodę kierownika na przewóz dodatkowego jednośladu.
Bez formalności i bezpłatnie można natomiast przewozić rowery na liniach PKP SKM obsługiwanych trakcja elektryczną – z Gdańska Śródmieścia do Lęborka.
