Marynarze „Szafira” porwani przez nigeryjskich piratów
Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych wydało oficjalny komunikat w sprawie porwanych u wybrzeży Nigerii polskich marynarzy. Uprowadzonych zostało 5 członków załogi statku „SZAFIR”.
Porwani skontaktowali się telefonicznie ze swoimi rodzinami. Poinformowali, że są cali i zdrowi. – Mając na uwadze bezpieczeństwo życia i zdrowia marynarzy, nie przekazujemy żadnych dodatkowych informacji – podano w komunikacie MSZ. Według portalu Onet.pl uprowadzeni marynarze to mieszkańcy Trójmiasta, Szczecina i Świnoujścia. Pozostałych 11 członków załogi „Szafira” jest bezpiecznych na statku i dziś pod eskortą łodzi patrolowej oficerów nigeryjskiej marynarki wojennej dotrą do portu docelowego. Marynarze pozostają w kontakcie z polskim konsulem w Nigerii. Pięciu marynarzy – kapitan, trzech oficerów i marynarz – zostało porwanych przez nigeryjskich piratów w nocy z czwartku na piątek. Na statku „Szafir” pływającym pod cypryjską banderą, w chwili ataku nigeryjskich piratów przebywało 16 Polaków. Prokuratura w Szczecinie rozpoczęła śledztwo ws. porwania.
