Armator statku Szafir prowadzi negocjacje z piratami
Armator i firmy które eksploatowały statek Szafir uprowadzony przez piratów równolegle prowadzą negocjacje – powiedział dziennikarzom, po swoim spotkaniu na szczycie NATO, minister spraw zagranicznych Witold Waszczykowski.
– Jesteśmy w stałym kontakcie z władzami politycznymi i władzami bezpieczeństwa Nigerii – dodał szef polskiej dyplomacji. Sprawą zajmują się na miejscu doświadczeni ludzie, którzy od lat rozwiązują takie przypadki. Trzeba im wierzyć, że są w stanie rozwiązać te sytuację. Jeśli będzie taka potrzeba, zwrócimy się o pomoc do innych państw, na razie jest szansa by rozwiązać to na miejscu, lokalnie – dodał Waszczykowski. Pięciu Polaków – kapitana, trzech oficerów i marynarza piraci uprowadzili u wybrzeży Nigerii w czwartek. Są mieszkańcami Trójmiasta i Szczecina. W niedzielę porwani skontaktowali się z rodzinami.
