Nowy komendant głównym policji odebrał nominację
Dotychczas był zastępcą Komendanta Wojewódzkiego Policji w Gdańsku, gdzie nadzorował pion kryminalny. Na stanowisku szefa policji zastąpił odwołanego wczoraj Krzysztofa Gajewskiego, który tę funkcję pełnił od lutego bieżącego roku.
W swojej dotychczasowej karierze Zbigniew Maj był m.in. koordynatorem i twórcą struktur Centralnego Biura Śledczego Policji. Nowy Komendant Główny jest też m.in. twórcą i członkiem Zespołu ds. Uprowadzeń oraz współtwórcą algorytmu działań Policji w sytuacjach kryzysowych – tj. uprowadzeń dla okupu. Zbigniew Maj został dwukrotnie odznaczony przez Prezydenta RP – Brązowym Medalem za długoletnią służbę oraz Brązowym Krzyżem Zasługi.
Na Komendanta Głównego Policji powołała go premier Beata Szydło, nominację wręczył dziś Minister Spraw Wewnętrznych i Administracji Mariusz Błaszczak.
