Gminy korzystają ze środków na utylizację azbestu
15 tysięcy ton wyrobów zawierających azbest zutylizowano na Pomorzu w ciągu ostatnich 7 lat. Ze środków oferowanych na ten cel z Wojewódzkiego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska w Gdańsku skorzystało 70 proc. pomorskich gmin. Do 13 kwietnia mogą one składać kolejne wnioski w tej sprawie.
– Dotychczas przeznaczyliśmy na ten cel 7 mln złotych mówi zastępca prezesa Maciej Kazienko.
Wyroby zawierające azbest są niebezpieczne i szkodliwe dla naszego zdrowia. Podczas kruszenia i obróbki tych produktów wydobywający się z nich pył jest przyczyna wielu chorób,w tym pylicy azbestowej i międzybłoniaka opłucnej. Dlatego od 7 lat w Polsce realizowany jest program finansowych dotacji na demontaż, transport i utylizację azbestu. Środki dla gmin rozdysponowuje Wojewódzki Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Gdańsku. Program dofinansowań ma być realizowany w Polsce do 2032 roku. Tegoroczne wnioski gminy mogą składać do Wojewódzkiego Funduszu do 13 kwietnia.
