Zapewniali o gotowości Unii w pomocy poszkodowanym po nawałnicach
Europosłowie apelowali w Chojnicach o aktywność polskiego rządu w sprawie ubiegania się o pomoc unijną na likwidację szkód po nawałnicy. Unijni politycy spotkali się z samorządowcami i mieszkańcami najbardziej poszkodowanych gmin.
– Naszym zdaniem Polska powinna ubiegać się o unijną pomoc – mówili europosłowie Różna Thun i Jarosław Wałęsa.
Odwiedzili Chojnice, Żalno oraz Trzebuń w gminie Dziemiany. W delegacji Parlamentu Europejskiego byli członkowie komisji środowiska, budżetu i rolnictwa. W Trzebuniu gminie Dziemiany europosłowie obejrzeli zniszczone gospodarstwa, zdewastowane lasy i wymagający odbudowy Środowiskowy Dom Samopomocy. – Każda pomoc jest nam potrzebna – podkreślał wójt Leszek Pobłocki. Jak zapewniali europosłowie, unijna pomoc może być przeznaczona przede wszystkim na odbudowę infrastruktury i zniszczonych lasów. Fundusz Solidarności Unii Europejskiej służy do reagowania na poważne klęski żywiołowe. Wnioski o wsparcie muszą wpłynąć do Komisji w terminie dwunastu tygodni od wystąpienia pierwszych szkód, jeśli ich wartość przekracza próg określony w unijnym prawie.
