Elektrownia jądrowa nie jest zagrożeniem dla turystyki przekonywali w Gdańsku żyjący w otoczeniu atomówki mieszkańcy Francji, Hiszpanii i Słowacji. Konferencję pod nazwą „Elektrownia jądrowa – szansa czy zagrożenie dla rozwoju turystyki na Pomorzu” zorganizowała odpowiedzialna za budowę naszej elektrowni spółka PGE. Na świecie funkcjonuje ponad 400 reaktorów jądrowych w 30 krajach. Wiele z nich zlokalizowanych jest na obszarach atrakcyjnych turystycznie. Podobnie ma być na Pomorzu. Badania środowiskowe i lokalizacyjne trwają w 3 miejscowościach gmin Krokowa, Choczewo i Gniewino. Temat budzi sporo kontrowersji wśród samych mieszkańców. Jednak jak pokazują badania – aż 78% mieszkańców. Budowa elektrowni na Pomorzu ma się rozpocząć około 2020 roku. Przy jej budowie może znaleźć pracę od 2,5 do 4 tysięcy osób.
