Chcą referendum w sprawie likwidacji Straży Miejskiej
Mieszkańcy Chojnic chcą referendum w sprawie likwidacji Straży Miejskiej. Władze miasta nie mówią nie – ale chcą najpierw przeliczyć podpisy pod wnioskiem o przeprowadzenie plebiscytu.
– Straż miejska jest w Chojnicach potrzebna – przekonuje zastępca burmistrza Edward Pietrzyk – a jej działanie można zreformować.
Radni powołali już komisję, która zweryfikuje liczbę osób popierających referendum w sprawie likwidacji straży miejskiej. Podpisów jest ponad 4 tysiące – mówi jeden z pomysłodawców akcji Artur Eichenlaub. Jego zdaniem Chojnic nie stać na utrzymywanie strażników, a miejska kasa łoży na ten cel najwięcej w województwie pomorskim – bo 2 mln złotych. Wynik pracy komisji weryfikującej podpisy pod wnioskiem o referendum ma być znany na początku września, po czym temat ponownie trafi na forum rady miejskiej.
