Bezpośrednie pociągi z Gdańska Wrzeszcza do Kościerzyny już kursują. Dowiozą dziś pomorskich marszałków Mieczysława Struka i Ryszarda Świlskiego na uroczystość w holu kościerskiego dworca. Będzie to podpisanie umów na dofinansowanie utworzenia węzłów integracyjnych w Kościerzynie oraz Chojnicach i Człuchowie.
Marszałkowie skorzystają z bezpośredniego połączenia, uruchomionego wczoraj wraz z nowym rozkładem jazdy. W ciągu doby na trasie Gdańsk – Kościerzyna, obsługiwaną przez trójmiejską SMK-kę jeździ 7 par pociągów. Czas najszybszego przejazdu na tej trasie wynosi 69 minut. Pociągi „kościerskie” od Żukowa jadą jako przyspieszone, zatrzymując się na gdańskich przystankach Port Lotniczy, Kiełpinek, Jasień oraz Strzyża – tych, z których korzysta największa liczba pasażerów i są zlokalizowane węzły – m.in. Park&Ride czy integracja z komunikacją miejską. Kolejne dwa węzły integracyjne na Pomorzu mają powstać dzięki umowom na dofinansowanie, które mają dziś zostać podpisane. Inwestycje w Kościerzynie oraz w Chojnicach i Człuchowie otrzymają w sumie 74 mln zł unijnego wsparcia, a wartość obu projektów to prawie sto milionów złotych. Kościerski projekt obejmuje m.in. rewitalizację dworca PKP, budowę podziemnego tunelu i sieci ścieżek rowerowych.
