Bezpłatna książka w ramach projektu „Z książką na start”
Już 8 bibliotek w 7 miastach województwa pomorskiego wydaje Pakiety Startowe Małego Czytelnika. To akcja skierowana do dzieci w wieku do 6 lat.
– To świetna motywacja dla dzieci – uważa Anna Chlewicka ze Stacji Kultura w Rumi, w której dzięki akcji przybywa małych czytelników.
Rozpoczęła ją w marcu Fundacja Metropolia Dzieci we współpracy z Wojewódzką i Miejską Biblioteką Publiczną. Akcja wzorowana jest na brytyjskim projekcie Bookstart. Młody Czytelnik otrzymuje Pakiet Startowy, a w nim imienną Kartę, Paszport oraz darmową książkę dopasowaną do jego wieku i potrzeb. W Paszporcie zbiera pieczątki, a w zamian otrzymuje dyplomy i nagrody książkowe. W akcji „Z książką na start” uczestniczą biblioteki w Gdańsku, Sopocie, Tczewie, Rumi, Redzie, Starogardzie Gdańskim i Wejherowie. Od początku marca do końca listopada przekazano do nich już 5 tys. książek o wartości 50. tys. zł.
