Nie marnuj jedzenia – apelują Banki Żywności
Przemyślane zakupy i sprawdzanie terminów ważności – są kluczowe by nie marnować jedzenia. Namawiają do tego Banki Żywności w przeddzień Światowego Dnia Żywności.
Obchodzony jest 16 października, ma nam przypominać by nie kupować za dużo żywności, odpowiednio ją przechowywać i wykorzystywać zanim się popsuje. Z raportu „Nie marnuj jedzenia” przygotowanego przez Federację Polskich Banków Żywności wynika, że w Polsce rocznie marnowanych jet 9 mln ton żywności – z czego dwa miliony ton w gospodarstwach domowych – radziła dziś w audycji Dzień Dobry Kaszuby Anna Kobiela-Kanaan z Banku Żywności w Trójmieście. Kojarzymy go głównie z przedświątecznych zbiórek żywności na Kaszubach, ale jego główna działalność to zapobiegania marnowania żywności. Banki Żywności odbierają żywność z krótkimi terminami przydatności od producentów i dystrybutorów i przykazują potrzebującym.
