Przekop Mierzei Wiślanej ruszy w tym roku
Jeszcze w tym roku przebadane zostanie dno akwenów, na terenie, gdzie ma być budowany przekop Mierzei Wiślanej. Informacja o badaniach archeologicznych i ferromagnetycznych mających zabezpieczyć plac przed niewybuchami, została podana w dzisiejszym Dzienniku Bałtyckim.
Ministerstwo Gospodarki Morskiej i Żeglugi Śródlądowej informuje, że po pierwszych pracach zostanie wyłoniony wykonawca i w przyszłym roku rozpocznie się właściwy etap budowy. Resort zaznacza, że gotowy jest już projekt budowlany inwestycji, a Urząd Morski w Gdyni oczekuje na wydanie zgody środowiskowej przez regionalnego dyrektora ochrony środowiska w Olsztynie. RDOŚ w Olsztynie odpowiada teraz na wątpliwości stawiane przez Zarząd Województwa Pomorskiego. Marszałek Mieczysław Struk podkreślał negatywne oddziaływanie na środowisko i przeszacowane założenia co do potencjału przeładunkowego portu w Elblągu.
Przekop Mierzei Wiślanej ma być żeglugowym połączeniem Zatoki Gdańskiej i polskiej części Zalewu Wiślanego. Kanał ma przede wszystkim umożliwić transport do portu w Elblągu. Koszt inwestycji to 880 mln zł.
