Pomiędzy nimi znalazła się oferta warszawskiej spółki opiewająca na 40 mln zł. Wszystkie przeanalizuje teraz komisja przetargowa, decyzja o wyborze wykonawcy i operatora powinna zapaść w ciągu miesiąca. Pierwsze rowery – 30 procent systemu – mają być dostępne jesienią tego roku. Cały system roweru publicznego MEVO uruchomiony zostanie do 1 marca przyszłego roku. Rower będzie można wypożyczyć i zostawić na jednej z 660 stacji postoju na terenie 14 gmin – m.in. w Trójmieście, Pucku, Redzie, Rumi, Władysławowie, Kartuzach, Stężycy, Sierakowicach, Somoninie i Żukowie.
Projekt jest współfinansowany ze środków unijnych na poziomie ponad 17 mln zł. Ma stworzyć alternatywę dla komunikacji samochodowej oraz zwiększyć dostępność węzłów integracyjnych umożliwiając szybsza przesiadkę na pociąg, autobus czy tramwaj.
