Pasażerowie SKM Trójmiasto zostali policzeni
161 tys osób w ciągu ośmiu godzin przewija się przez przystanki Szybkiej Kolei Miejskiej w Trójmieście. Pasażerów policzyło Pomorskie Biuro Planowania Przestrzennego. 3/4 z nich wybiera przystanki w Gdańsku Wrzeszczu, Gdyni Głównej i Gdańsku Głównym.
Badania przeprowadzono w październiku i listopadzie ubiegłego roku na 54 stacjach i przystankach obsługiwanych przez trójmiejską SKM. W ciągu godziny najwięcej pasażerów przewinęło się przez Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, średnio ponad 1 tys 800 osób. Na końcu stawki jest Babi Dół koło Żukowa z wynikiem średnio półtora osoby na godzinę. Największy wzrost liczby pasażerów w porównaniu z 2016 rokiem odnotowano na stacji Gdańsk Strzyża, bo o 122 procent. To m.in. zasługa wzrastającego zatrudnienia w centrach biurowych i rozbudowy kampusu Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego. Wzrost liczby pasażerów powyżej stu procent odnotowano także w Gdańsku Jasieniu i Kartuzach.
Około 30 procent pasażerów SKM podróżuje w granicach jednego powiatu lub miasta. Najwięcej w Gdańsku, ale również w obrębie powiatu kartuskiego, między stacjami: Kartuzy, Rębiechowo i Gołubie Kaszubskie. Pokazuje to, że pociągi na głównej linii SKM oraz Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej są uzupełnieniem dla gdańskiej komunikacji miejskiej.
