Bezpiecznie na skróty można w Żukowie dojść do przystanku PKM. Zakończono budowę chodnika.
Nowe, oświetlone przejście skraca drogę do przystanku od strony ulicy Gdyńskiej. Dotychczas mieszkańcy osiedli Wybickiego, Nowego i Norbertanek, zlokalizowanych po północnej stronie Żukowa, w drodze do PKM musieli przejść w dół Gdyńskiej aż w okolice szkoły podstawowej lub wybierając bardziej niebezpieczny wariant, przejść starym przejściem wzdłuż niezabezpieczonej skarpy. Od dziś mają do dyspozycji nowy chodnik. Do końca tygodnia będą tam jeszcze trwały prace porządkowe, nie utrudniające jednak ruchu pieszych.
Wyremontowanie przejścia kosztowało 60 tysięcy zł, wykonała je Spółka Komunalna Żukowo. Jak informują władze gminy trwają rozmowy z GDDKiA dotyczące zgodny na zorganizowanie nowego przejścia dla pieszych w okolicach skrzyżowania Gdyńskiej i Polnej – co skróciłoby drogę do stacji PKM mieszkańcom osiedla Dolnego.
