W Zespole Szkół Zawodowych i Ogólnokształcących w Żukowie od września ruszy nowy kierunek kształcenia – Technik Transportu Kolejowego.
Będzie to pierwsza taka klasa w województwie pomorskim od ponad 10 lat. Wcześniej takowe funkcjonowały w Tczewie, Gdyni i Słupsku, ale zostały zlikwidowane. Najbliższa jest dopiero w Bydgoszczy. W Żukowie tłumaczą, że kolejowa kadra jest coraz starsza i brakuje rąk do pracy – stąd pomysł powołania klasy o takim profilu. Szkoła zamierza współpracować w ramach praktyk z PKP PLK. Uczniowie będą kształceni w zawodach: dyżurny ruchu, nastawniczy i rewident taboru, a po drugiej kwalifikacji można zostać kierownikiem pociągu, konduktorem i kasjerem. Zawodu będzie uczyć ksiądz pasjonat – Piotr Wulgaris. Uczniowie w klasie kolejowej będą mogli skorzystać ze stypendium ministerstwa, przez co będą mieli zagwarantowane zatrudnienie. Na korzyść dla nowego kierunku przemawia też lokalizacja żukowskiej szkoły. Dogodnie można tu dojechać z Gdyni, Gdańska, Kartuz i Kościerzyny.
