Nie będzie podwójnych, polsko-kaszubskich nazw przystanków na trasie Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej. Postulowało o to Zrzeszenie Kaszubsko – Pomorskie. PKM to nowa linia kolejowa wybudowana przez pomorski samorząd, łącząca Gdańsk z lotniskiem w Rębiechowie i z linią do Kartuz i Kościerzyny. Na razie jednak nie ma szans by pasażerów witały na przystankach tablice z polskimi i kaszubskimi nazwami, ani też by komunikaty w składach PKM rozbrzmiewały po kaszubsku. Spółka PKM odpowiedź odmowną tłumaczy względami technicznymi.
Wprowadzenie kaszubskich nazw obok polskich ma być kolejnym krokiem we wprowadzaniu podwójnego nazewnictwa na Kaszubach. Tablice z nazwami miejscowości na polsko – kaszubskie wymieniło już ponad 20 gmin. Kolej to jednak trudniejszy orzech do zgryzienia.
Sukcesem we wprowadzaniu języka kaszubskiego do transportu publicznego może się już poszczycić Stowarzyszenie Kaszebsko Jednota, którego staraniem komunikaty w rodnej mowie wybrzmiewają w autobusach miejskich w Wejherowie. Kaszebsko Jednota ogłosiła też 2016 rok „Rokiem języka kaszubskiego w przestrzeni publicznej”.
