Rok Pomorskiej Wspólnoty Obywatelskiej na Pomorzu
Radni sejmiku województwa Rok 2016 na Pomorzu ogłosili Rokiem Pomorskiej Wspólnoty Obywatelskiej.
Radni uznali, że konieczne jest, by obywatele lepiej poznali historię, kulturę i tradycję regionu. W przyjętej uchwale radni przypominają, że w tym roku będziemy obchodzić między innymi 550-tą rocznicę II pokoju toruńskiego. W jego wyniku znaczna część obecnego województwa pomorskiego znalazła się pod administracją Polską, jako autonomiczne Prusy Królewskie.
Uchwała sejmiku zwraca także uwagę na aktywność pomorskiego społeczeństwa w czasach pruskich oraz z dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym, czego symbolem jest Gdynia obchodząca w tym roku 90-lecie nadania praw miejskich. Niezwykłym przejawem postaw obywatelskich była także powstała w 1980 r. Solidarność.
Rocznice te są okazją do zwrócenia uwagi na specyfikę dziejów naszego regionu – czytamy w uchwale – Jedną z cech wyróżniających go na tle innych polskich regionów była duża aktywność obywatelska i pozytywistycznie rozumiana umiejętność samoorganizacji mieszkańców, przekładająca się na oddolny rozkwit życia społecznego, gospodarczego i kulturalnego regionu.
