Obchody 76. rocznicy wybuchu II wojny światowej
Naszym zadaniem jest budowanie silnej armii, jest zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa naszemu krajowi – mówił o świcie na Westerplatte prezydent Andrzej Duda. – Dziś nie jesteśmy sami i jesteśmy bezpieczni – dodała premier Ewa Kopacz.
– To miejsce jest i pozostanie na wieki symbolem bohaterstwa polskiego żołnierza – mówił prezydent Andrzej Duda.
Uroczystości z okazji 76. rocznicy wybuchu II wojny światowej odbyły na Westerplatte tradycyjnie o 04:45, w godzinie o której nastąpił atak na polską Wojskową Składnicę Tranzytową ulokowaną na gdańskim półwyspie. Podkreślał też że Polska musi wzmacniać swoją obecność w NATO. Premier Ewa Kopacz mówiła, że Polska budzi zaufanie bo jest wiarygodnym partnerem. Podkreślała, że „Nie można w imię wewnętrznych politycznych zagrywek obrażać własnego kraju. Obniżać jego wiarygodności”.
Uroczystości na Westerplatte zainaugurowały w regionie obchody 76. rocznicy wybuchu II wojny światowej. Uroczystości odbędą się m.in. o 11:00 w Helu przed pomnikiem Obrońców Helu, o 12:00 w puckiej farze, w południe w Gdańsku na placu Obrońców Poczty Polskiej, w Gdyni o 13:00 na Cmentarzu Obrońców Wybrzeża w Redłowie.
