W Kościerzynie powstanie ośrodek chirurgii onkologicznej
W Kościerzynie powstanie ośrodek chirurgii onkologicznej dla mieszkańców południowej części województwa pomorskiego. Jego tworzeniem już zajmują się lekarze z kościerskiego szpitala specjalistycznego.
– Nasz ośrodek będzie ułatwieniem dla pacjentów z południa – mówi kierownik pododdziału chirurgii onkologicznej szpitala w Kościerzynie dr Wojciech Makarewicz.
Oddział przygotowany będzie dla 20 pacjentów, głównie chorujących na najczęstsze nowotwory: raka piersi i raka jelita grubego. Dotychczas podobne duże ośrodki onkologiczne zlokalizowane były jedynie na północy województwa – to Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny, Gdyńskie Centrum Onkologii i szpital specjalistyczny w Słupsku. Do wykonywanych w Kościerzynie zabiegów ma być wykorzystywany nowoczesny sprzęt, który władze lecznicy zakupią w najbliższym czasie. Nowością będzie między innymi terapia BCT dla kobiet we wczesnym stadium raka piersi. Poddział chirurgii onkologicznej powstanie przy oddziale chirurgii ogólnej szpitala specjalistycznego w Kościerzynie. Latem planowany jest tam remont pomieszczeń. A oficjalne otwarcie ma nastąpić we wrześniu.
