Przygotowują się do rewitalizacji linii kolejowej
Mieszkańcy Bytowa też chcą szybko dojeżdżać do Trójmiasta i skorzystać z Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej. Aby było to możliwe, władze miasta przygotowują się do rewitalizacji linii kolejowej z Bytowa do Lipusza, która umożliwi połączenie z Kościerzyną i dalej z Trójmiastem.
Zgodnie ze wstępnymi obliczeniami koszt modernizacji 25-kilometrowej linii będzie kosztował około 65 mln złotych. Władze liczą na dofinansowanie z nowego budżetu unijnego. Do września tego roku ma być gotowy projekt techniczny inwestycji.
– To jedno z największych zadań naszego samorządu na najbliższe lata – podkreśla burmistrz Ryszard Sylka.
Ruch pasażerski na odcinku z Bytowa do Kościerzyny zawieszono już 20 lat temu, z powodu fatalnego stanu torów, po których pociągi towarowe jeżdżą dzisiaj z prędkością 30 km na godzinę. Wybrany wariant modernizacji zakłada remont torów oraz sześciu przystanków dla pasażerów. Jak szacują władze Bytowa – realny termin uruchomienia pasażerskich przewozów do Trójmiasta to rok 2020.
