Rośnie też liczba prywatnych partnerów projektu – co jest m.in. zasługą gmin. Karta przysługuje rodzinom z przynajmniej trójką dzieci, niezależnie od dochodu. Jest wydawana bezpłatnie, każdemu członkowi rodziny.
Uprawnia do korzystania z systemu zniżek, wśród nich na przejazdy koleją – 37% na bilety jednorazowe podczas podróży pociągami TLK, IC, EIC, EIP oraz 49-procentowy rabat na bilety miesięczne w pociągach TLK i IC. Oprócz bonusów w instytucjach publicznych posiadacze karty korzystają z upustów oferowanych przez partnerów projektu – na Pomorzu są to między innymi Muzeum Marynarki Wojennej w Gdyni, Muzeum Narodowe w Gdańsku, kancelarie prawnicze, szkoły językowe, placówki medyczne. O pozyskiwanie partnerów dbają także gminy, które nie czekając na rządowe projekty i ustawowe wsparcie wydawały już własne karty. W Redzie współpracę z miastem podjęło ponad 20 firm, w tym wiele przedszkoli. Podobnie powinno być i u nas – mówi nowy burmistrz Rumi Michał Pasieczny. Pomoc dla wielodzietnych rodzin na Kaszubach uruchomiono też m.in. w Kościerzynie i Gdyni. Wnioski do ogólnopolskiej Karty Dużej Rodziny składać można w urzędach miast i gmin.
