Dzisiaj pytamy czym w wyborach 16 listopada będą się kierowali mieszkańcy Kartuz – gdzie jest 9 kandydatów na burmistrza. Z wielu opracowań naukowców wynika, że po wyborach do Parlamentu Europejskiego to właśnie wybory samorządowe mają najniższą frekwencję. W 2010 r. głosowało 47 proc. obywateli, w 2006 r. jeszcze mniej: 45 proc. Najniższa frekwencja zazwyczaj jest tam, gdzie ci sami samorządowcy rządzą od kilku kadencji. Najwyższa – gdzie mieszkańcy się bogacą. Na Kaszubach 4 lata temu najwięcej osób poszło do urn w powiecie bytowskim, najmniej – w chojnickim i kartuskim. Ten ostatni w tym roku nie może narzekać na brak kandydatów. O fotel burmistrza Kartuz walczy tam aż 9 osób. Miasto już zalała fala plakatów. Z opracowań Fundacji Rozwoju Demokracji Lokalnej wynika, że w małych gminach głównym czynnikiem determinującym nasz wybór jest bezpośrednia znajomość kandydata. Kampanie medialne odgrywają drugorzędną rolę.
