19 proc. dzieci na Pomorzu ma problem z nadwagą
19 proc. dzieci na Pomorzu ma już problem z nadwagą bądź otyłością – wynika z mapy przygotowanej przez ekspertów z okazji przypadającego dzisiaj Europejskiego Dnia Walki z Otyłością. Według Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia całej Europie w najbliższych latach grozi epidemia otyłości.
– W jego ograniczeniu dużą rolę powinni odegrać rodzice – przypomina pediatra Barbara Brodowska-Małachowicz.
Według definicji to nadmierne nagromadzenie tkanki tłuszczowej w organizmie. U mężczyzn diagnozowana jest, kiedy tkanka tłuszczowa stanowi więcej niż 20 proc. całkowitej masy ciała, u kobiet wskaźnik ten wynosi 25 proc. Według danych Instytutu Żywności i Żywienia w Polsce już 64 proc. mężczyzn i 49 proc. kobiet ma nadmierną masę ciała. Grozi to wieloma chorobami w tym układu krążenia, cukrzycą i nowotworami. W ostatnich latach w Polsce rośnie też odsetek dzieci z otyłością bądź nadwagą. Jak obliczyli eksperci średnio w Polsce to już 22,3 proc. Na Pomorzu wskaźnik ten wynosi 19 proc. Według przygotowanej przez ekspertów mapy – najwięcej otyłych dzieci w Polsce jest w województwie mazowieckim, a najmniej w województwie śląskim.
