Zyskały pewność siebie i przydatne umiejętności – 40 pań wzięło udział w bezpłatnym kursie samoobrony dla kobiet „Bezpieczna Gdynianka”. Zorganizowała go Rada Dzielnicy Wzgórza Św. Maksymiliana w ramach miejskiego konkursu grantowego „Przyjazna Dzielnica”.
Podczas trwającego siedem tygodni szkolenia kursantki spotkały się m.in. z policjantami, psychologami i ratownikami medycznymi – na zajęciach teoretycznych poznawały podstawy pierwszej pomocy, mechanizmy powstawania agresji, dowiadywały się jak unikać konfrontacji. Na sytuacje podbramkowe natomiast panie przygotowywały się podczas 16 sesji treningowych Krav Magi, które – jak mówiły uczestniczki – były bardzo przydatne. Padł nawet postulat, by zajęcia z samoobrony wprowadzić obowiązkowo do szkół – opisuje Beata Zastawna, pomysłodawca projektu. Następna edycja „Bezpiecznej Gdynianki” planowana jest w przyszłym roku.
