Zmiany w gdyńskiej oświacie przegłosowała Rada Miasta
Radni przyjęli uchwały, które zakładają zmiany w 18 szkołach – głównie ponadgimnazjalnych. Restrukturyzacja polegająca na łączeniu szkół, czy też ich przenosinach wynika z niżu demograficznego. W gdyńskich szkołach uczy się o 4000 tysiące mniej uczniów, niż 10 lat temu.
Nauczyciele obawiający się o swoje miejsca pracy próbowali zahamować gdyńską reformę szkolnictwa. Wspierali ich radni opozycji z PiS, którzy zwracali uwagę, że zmiany mogą być przedwczesne i należałoby poczekać do czasu przyjęcia przez rząd nowej ustawy oświatowej.
Wiceprezydent Gdyni Bartosz Bartoszewicz tłumacząc decyzje gdyńskiego samorządu podkreślał, że na zmianach nie stracą ani nauczyciele ani uczniowie. Bartoszewicz zapewnił, że w związku ze zmianami nie ma w planach żadnych zwolnień. – Niektórzy będą musieli pogodzić się po prostu z pracą w innych budynkach – mówił wiceprezydent Gdyni.
