Zmarł profesor Edmund Wnuk – Lipiński, ceniony socjolog i pisarz

Zmarł profesor Edmund Wnuk – Lipiński, ceniony socjolog, pisarz, jeden z czołowych działaczy opozycji w PRL. Był Kaszubą z urodzenia, miał 71 lat. O jego śmierci poinformował w niedzielę prof. Stanisław Mocek, rektor Collegium Civitas. Wnuk-Lipiński był rektorem honorowym tej uczelni.
Edmund Wnuk-Lipiński urodził się w 1944 w Suchej na Pomorzu. Wywodził się z kaszubskiej rodziny. Ukończył socjologię na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim. W latach 1991-93 był pierwszym dyrektorem Instytutu Studiów Politycznych PAN, wykładał w College of Europe, koordynował i brał udział w kilkunastu międzynarodowych projektach badawczych dotyczących elit, struktur społecznych oraz przemian demokratycznych. Autor wielu książek, pisał powieści z gatunku fantastyki socjologicznej. Najgłośniejszą z nich był wydany w 88 r. Rozpad połowiczny, druga cześć trylogii Apostezjon. Powieść zdobyła prestiżową Nagrodę im. Janusza A. Zajdla. W 2011 r. profesor Edmund Wnuk-Lipiński został uhonorowany przez prezydenta Krzyżem Komandorskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski za wybitne zasługi w działalności naukowo-badawczej, dydaktycznej i społecznej oraz popularyzowanie nauki w Polsce i na świecie.
