Żegnają Pawła Adamowicza w Europejskim Centrum Solidarności
Tysiące ludzi chce pożegnać zamordowanego prezydenta Gdańska Pawła Adamowicza, którego trumnę wystawiono w Ogrodzie Zimowym Europejskiego Centrum Solidarności. Kolejka do złożenia hołdu prezydentowi Gdańska liczyła w nocy nawet kilkaset metrów.
Są wśród nich nie tylko Gdańszczanie, ale też mieszkańcy okolicznych miejscowości. Wejście do ECS zostało otwarte wczoraj po godz. 17.30. Wcześniej w pożegnaniu Pawła Adamowicza uczestniczyła jego najbliższa rodzina, przyjaciele, znajomi i współpracownicy. Cześć samorządowcowi oddali też radni miasta Gdańska wszystkich kadencji podczas uroczystej sesji Rady Miasta w Dworze Artusa. Dzisiaj o godz. 17 wyruszy pochód, który odprowadzi trumnę z ciałem prezydenta Adamowicza ulicami miasta do Bazyliki Mariackiej. Msza pogrzebowa pod przewodnictwem metropolity gdańskiego abp. Sławoja Leszka Głódzia rozpocznie się w sobotę o godz. 12.00. Uroczystości będą transmitowane na telebimach na Targu Węglowym, Wyspie Ołowiance, Parku Świętopełka, a także na ul. Długiej i Długim Targu, gdzie zostanie umieszczonych 5 ekranów. Miasto Gdańsk jako organizator pogrzebu apeluje, żeby nie przynosić ze sobą zniczy. Wstęp ze zniczami do stref, w których będą ustawione telebimy i głośniki będzie zabroniony. W związku z pogrzebem Pawła Adamowicza zdecydowano o wprowadzeniu bezpłatnej komunikacji miejskiej na terenie Gdańska – dzisiaj i jutro dotyczy ona autobusów, a w sobotę w godzinach od 10 do 18.00 przejazdów kolejowych pociągami SKM Trójmiasto i POLREGIO . Gdynia zachęca do skorzystania z przejazdu bezpłatną linią autobusową numer 101, która będzie kursować do centrum Gdańska.
Kaszubi również chcą pożegnać tragicznie zmarłego Pawła Adamowicza. Dzisiaj o godzinie 19.15 spotkają się przed pomnikiem Świętopełka Wielkiego, na placu między ulicami Szeroką, Groblą II i Świętojańską. To symboliczne dla Kaszubów miejsce w Gdańsku jest w istotny sposób związane z Pawłem Adamowiczem, który brał aktywny udział w wydawaniu zgody na powstanie pomnika i współfinansował jego wykonanie. Następnie przejdą ulicami miasta do Centrum św Jana, gdzie o godzinie 20:00 odbędzie się obrzęd Pustej Nocy. W tradycji kaszubskiej to ostatnia noc przez pogrzebem zmarłego. Obrzęd rozpoczyna się różańcem, po którym żałobnicy odśpiewują nabożne pieśni i odmawiają modlitwy za zmarłego.
