O 43 grosze więcej za wodę i ścieki zapłacą od lipca mieszkańcy Kościerzyny. To wynik planów modernizacyjnych kościerskiej oczyszczalni i przekazania jej na własność spółce miejskiej Kos-Eko.
– Urządzenia się psują i musimy zaplanować kolejną modernizację – tłumaczy burmistrz Michał Majewski. Stąd decyzja większości radnych o przekazaniu oczyszczalni na własność miejskiej spółce Kos -Eko.
10 lat temu oczyszczalnia w Kościerzynie została rozbudowana i zmodernizowana, dzięki unijnemu dofinansowaniu w kwocie 25. mln złotych. Od tego czasu nie przechodziła gruntownego remontu. Mieszkańcy Kościerzyny po podwyżkach średnio miesięcznie zapłacą za wodę i ścieki o 8 zł więcej niż dotychczas. Przeciwko takiemu rozwiązaniu zagłosowało 4 radnych, w tym Aleksander Mach. Mówił Zdzisław Radelski z klubu „Inicjatywa dla Kościerzyny”, popierającego przekazanie oczyszczalni spółce Kos-Eko, głosującego jednak przeciwko podwyżkom. Zgodnie z zapowiedziami modernizacja oczyszczalni w Kościerzynie ma rozpocząć się w 2019 roku i kosztować 14 mln złotych.
