Zamknięte plaże, dziś pierwsza akcja detonacji bomb
Akcja nurków-minerów na Zatoce Gdańskiej rozpoczęta. O godz. 9.25 zamknięty został gdyński port, 10 minut później nurkowie zeszli pod wodę.
Zdetonowane, etapami przez trzy dni, mają być ładunki z okresu II wojny światowej, znalezione podczas badania dna morskiego w gdyńskim porcie i Zatoce Gdańskiej. Pogoda sprzyja, więc nurkowie z 8 Flotylli Obrony Wybrzeża ruszyli do akcji. Po podniesieniu ładunku, podwieszeniu na balonach wypornościowych, niszczyciel min ORP Flaming odholuje wciąż zanurzoną w wodzie minę na wyznaczone miejsce detonacji – to około trzech kilometrów od brzegu na wysokości ostrogi na bulwarze Nadmorskim. W rejonie detonacji krąży już wojskowy trałowiec ORP Wigry, z włączoną stacją radiolokacyjną. Zabieg ten służy odstraszeniu ryb. Dodatkowo, na dwie godziny przed detonacją, planowaną wstępnie w godz. 13.00-15.00, do wody będą rzucane mikroładunki.
W związku z tą akcją wprowadzono zakaz wchodzenia do wody – na odcinku wybrzeża od Kosakowa do Gdańska – Brzeźna. Tylko na terenie Gdyni teren zabezpiecza grupa około stu funkcjonariuszy: straży miejskiej i policji – informuje w przesłanym do nas komunikacie zespół prasowy Urzędu Miasta. Dodatkowo w porcie przestrzegania zakazu pilnują służby ochrony i Portowa Straż Pożarna.
