Władze miasta deklarują wsparcie dla piłkarzy Gryfa Wejherowo
Jest sukces, będzie dotacja z Ratusza. Władze miasta deklarują finansowe wsparcie piłkarzy Gryfa Wejherowo, którzy wywalczyli ostatnio powrót do II ligi.
Obietnica, która padła na dzisiejszym spotkaniu może być kolejnym krokiem w ocieplaniu stosunków między miejskim samorządem a władzami wejherowskiego klubu. Przez ostatnie lat głośno było o bezskutecznych próbach pozyskania przez Gryfa pieniędzy z miejskiej kasy na drużynę piłkarską. Nić porozumienia zawiązano na początku tego roku – gdy WKS Gryf Wejherowo otrzymał od miasta 50 tysięcy złotych na promocję Wejherowa. Dzisiaj prezes Piotr Waga przyszedł do ratusza podziękować, ale i też poprosić o większą sumę, bo awans do drugiej ligi nazywa „planem minimum”. Prezes wejherowskiego klubu zwrócił się do władz miasta o 400 tysięcy złotych. Spotkał się z przychylną reakcją i obietnicą finansowego wsparcia. O konkretnej sumie jednak prezydent Wejherowa Krzysztof Hildebrandt nie chciał rozmawiać. Suma, o którą w Urzędzie Miejskim ubiega się WKS Wejherowo to jedna trzecia kwoty potrzebnej, by Gryfici utrzymali się w II lidze. Klub szacuje, że na ten cel potrzeba około miliona 200 tys. zł.
