Władze Kościerzyny przejęły budynek dworca kolejowego
Po wieloletnich staraniach władze Kościerzyny przejęły budynek dworca kolejowego w mieście. Nieodpłatnie przekazała go spółka PKP. Teraz samorząd wspólnie z mieszkańcami chce stworzyć koncepcję rewitalizacji obiektu.
– Na projekt nie udało się jednak pozyskać dofinansowania, więc władze planują przygotować tańszą wersję – mówi burmistrz Michał Majewski.
Wstępny projekt, przygotowany jeszcze przez poprzednie władze miasta, opiewał na kwotę blisko 10 mln złotych. Oprócz remontu dworca planowano stworzenie kładki nad torami kolejowymi, która połączyłaby dworzec ze skansenem Parowozownia. Jako atrakcję turystyczną władze chciały również wyremontować i uruchomić parowóz. W samym budynku dworca oprócz obsługi podróżnych – miały funkcjonować małe sklepy, schronisko dla turystów a część pomieszczeń miała być zaadoptowana na cele muzealne. Na dworcu kolejowym w Kościerzynie w ramach Miejskiego Obszaru Funkcjonalnego ma powstać węzeł integracyjny. Władze planują w najbliższych latach wykupić od PKP teren wokół dworca i stworzyć parkingi dla samochodów i rowerów. Jeszcze w tym roku ma powstać też ostateczna wersja rewitalizacji budynku dworca. Mieszkańcy swoje propozycje mogą wysyłać na adres mailowy Urzędu Miasta.
