Miał ruszyć z początkiem 2014 roku, ale na razie przyniósłby więcej strat niż oszczędności. W Kościerzynie nie powstanie Zarząd Dróg Miejskich zapowiadany przez radnych i burmistrza poprzedniej kadencji. To miało być miejsce, gdzie mieszkaniec będzie mógł uzyskać kompleksową obsługę w zakresie utrzymania dróg i chodników, organizacji ruchu czy płatnego parkowania.
W zakresie zadań zarządu miało być też zarządzanie komunikacją miejską, koordynacja robót budowlanych a także utrzymanie elementów infrastruktury i zieleni w mieście. O powstaniu Zarządu Dróg Miejskich zdecydowali już radni rok temu. Teraz nowi radni i nowy burmistrz Michał Majewski tę decyzję odrzucili. Ich zdaniem koszt powstania Zarządu na teraz byłby zbyt wysoki. Z decyzją większości rady nie zgodziła się Katarzyna Knopik, radna już kolejnej kadencji. Jej zdaniem powstanie Zarządu zostało źle przygotowane. Nowe władze Kościerzyny zapowiadają powrócenie do pomysłu powstania Zarządu Dróg Miejskich. Chcą jeszcze raz przeanalizować zadania i koszty funkcjonowania nowej jednostki.
