Wejherowskie lodowisko otrzymało nagrodę Ministra Sportu i Turystyki
Wejherowskie lodowisko Modernizacją Roku 2016. Miasto otrzymało nagrodę Ministra Sportu i Turystyki.
To już 21 edycja konkursu promującego ciekawe rozwiązania w obiektach użyteczności publicznej. W tym roku zgłoszono ponad 400 kandydatów. Nagrody wręczono w 13 kategoriach podczas uroczystości na Zamku Królewskim w Warszawie. Wejherowo zostało „Modernizacją Roku” za zadaszenie sezonowego lodowiska przy „ósemce”. Wielofunkcyjny obiekt służy uczniom placówki, mieszkańcom Wejherowa i turystom przez cały rok. Zadaszenie lodowiska chroni łyżwiarzy przed deszczem i śniegiem, natomiast w sezonie wiosenno-letnio-jesiennym boisko jest wykorzystywane do gry w koszykówkę i siatkówkę. To kolejna nagroda dla Wejherowa w tym konkursie. Wcześniej od 2004 roku miasto otrzymało ich dziewięć, m.in. za kompleksowy remont Kalwarii i rewitalizację miejskiego parku.
